The School of Health and Rehabilitation Sciences welcomes applications from international students wishing to study at the University of Queensland. An international applicant is an applicant who is not an Australian or New Zealand citizen nor a migrant holding a visa giving permanent residence status in Australia.
This School is committed to ensuring that all international students are provided with a comprehensive support network within the School. The mentoring program for first year international students whose first language is not English continues on a discipline basis with discipline representatives on the committee providing support to the relevant students as required.
Tutorial programs are organised each semester for international students to facilitate application and communication of acquired knowledge and skills and to improve assignment-writing skills.
A program for preclinical international and ESL students, “Enhancing Communication Skills for Clinical Practice in the Australian Context” is offered each year. The objective of the program is to promote optimal performance for international students in clinical practice.
Social functions are arranged each semester so that students from all
years of all programs may meet each other and School and discipline
representatives.
International students are required to pay full fees for tuition. The
University does not provide financial assistance for international coursework
undergraduate or postgraduate students. AusAID offers a limited number
of sector specific scholarships in selected Asian, Pacific and African
countries. Applicants should seek further information from the Australian
Diplomatic Mission in their own country.
