The BCE team focus on producing and providing products and services to the business and community sectors. Some of these emanate from the work of the School of Health and Rehabilitation Sciences, and others are products of the team attached to the Unit. The Literacy for Life Unit is a dynamic sub-unit of the B&CE. It has produced numerous literacy programs, and undertakes continuing professional development for education and health professionals. To date, approximately 3,200 people have attended our workshops.
The UQ Drivers Retirement Initiative Program (UQDRIVE) is an innovative program that has been developed as a result of a PhD completed within the School. The purpose of the program is to help older drivers retire from driving while still maintaining their quality of life.
We are also involved in producing and fostering other products – The Sunsafe Industrial Occupational Health and Safety Program has been provided to all Education Queensland schools, and a number of industries – including the University of Queensland.
